The Power Of Determination
Not
so long ago, an eight year old boy, named Glenn Cunningham was horribly burned
in a school fire. Luckily some teachers took him to the hospital. He was
unconscious for some days.
When
he woke up, he heard the doctor informing his mother that Glenn would surely
die. But, Glenn didn’t want to die. He made up his mind that he would surely
live. Somehow, to the amazement of the doctor, he did survive.
Again,
when he woke up he heard the doctor informing his mother that he had survived,
but will never be able to use his lower limbs.
Once
his mother had taken him to the garden. Instead of sitting on the wheelchair,
he threw himself down on the grass and pulled himself with his hands towards
the fence. Then he dragged himself along the fence and tried to walk with
support. He did this for 22 months and finally started to walk with support.
Glenn
started to walk to school, then to run to school and finally he joined the
school athletic team. In college too, he continued to be in the athletic team.
This
determined young man was also the first man to run the world’s fastest mile.
This
was a story about a young determined boy.
But,
wait a minute, what is determination?
Well,
determination is doing what needs to be done even when you don’t feel like
doing it.
A
dream cannot become reality with magic; it takes sweat, determination and
hard-work.
Now
you must be thinking that can determination lead to success?
Determination
is a long way process; and failure is just a part of it. Some people when fail,
they lose hope. The people who lose hope, are the real failures. But the ones
who get up and work hard are the winners; and I guarantee you, these people achieve
their goals.
You
are driving the car of life and a little stumble on the road can’t end your
journey. Every morning, you should wake up with determination and go to bed in
the night with satisfaction.
You
know, the difference between impossible and possible lies in a person’s
determination.
You
may fall seven times, but you’ll stand up the eighth time.
You
must tell yourself everyday ,“No matter how hard it is, or how hard it gets, I’m
still going to make it”.
