To Cheat Is To Be Cheap
“To Cheat is to be Cheap”, this was said by India's Prime Minister, Narendra Modi in his book 'Exam Warriors'. It is an amazing book which has helped many students like me and given some tips to attend exams without feeling pressure.
My module test takes place 3 times a year in my school. On basis of these marks, teachers judge whether the student is intelligent or not.
On the exam day, (last year) everyone sat together and studied for the test. At 11:00 the seating arrangement was announced. Everyone (except me and my best friend) was discussing how they would cheat in the exam room. What’s the point of studying if you want to cheat? What are you proving….that you’re a good cheater?
In my class, there are three girls, Amaira, Isha and Kiara.
They are those girls who don’t give a damn to other children and just care about themselves (what I mean is that they are engaged only in themselves). They are also the toppers of our class. Amaira is very good in science and Kiara is excellent in math. They help each other in all tests by cheating. Isha is not very good in any subject but is always seen as the topper as she cheats.
Whenever anyone asks them why they are cheating, they would always say, “We were not cheating…... just confirming.”
I seriously don’t get why people cheat. We are studying in school to increase our knowledge for the long run and not to score marks in some stupid class test. Indian students have to score marks in boards in class 10th and 12th, but ultimately all our knowledge is going to tested later.
By cheating people can become literate, but not educated. Literate people are the people who have graduated from school but educated people are the ones who use their knowledge practically. These days, many successful and rich people are seen breaking traffic rules or throwing garbage on the roads or even defecating in the public. These people must have been the ‘cheaters’ of the class as whatever their teacher taught them did not go in their brains (only in their exam papers apparently).
On the other hand, people from middle-class families can be seen cleaning rivers or picking garbage or joining NGOs. These must be the ‘attentive listeners of the class’ as they are using their knowledge into doing something good.
Bill Gates once said in an interview, “I failed in some subjects in exams, but my friend passed in all. Now he is an engineer in Microsoft and I am the owner of Microsoft.”
This happened because Bill Gates wanted to face reality and fail so as to learn from his mistakes and grow, but his friend just wanted to pass in exams (maybe through cheating or just cramming), thus he didn’t work towards self-growth.
So, I would like to conclude by saying, it’s never too late to do a good deed. So, if you did cheat, you still can stop doing it and if you don’t do cheating, well and good!
Bravo!!!
